Axel was given his name for the excited spin moves he makes when approached by a human. Axel is so eager to love. He craves human attention and is happy to sit on your lap. Axel is a sweet boy who loves to play and is very energetic. He currently lives with other dogs and would do well with another dog friendly dog that likes to play. He loves toys and is still learning how to play with humans. He loves being with people. Axel would do better in a home with older children or a couple. He is doing a terrific job with house breaking and doesnt have accidents when he has routine visits to the outdoors. He sleeps all night in bed with his foster parents and has no issues. He is very loving and gives kisses to both his foster mom and dad. Dog friendly: It depends on the dog. He will react when confronted aggressively. Cat friendly: He has ignored some cats, but chased others. Housebroken: Yes, but needs a schedule. He goes all night without needing to go out. Crate trained: He is not crated other than for a "time out" period. Leash trained: Somewhat, but needs a little more work walking and socializing. Favorite toys: Balls and chew toys. He is a bit possessive and thinks all toys are intended for him. Personality: He is outgoing; not timid. He has a tendency to guard and needs continued work. He needs patience although he's getting better and more at ease. He will need a special person who will have the patience to work with him and understand his quirks. He is highly motivated by food and it can be used to train him. Endearing characteristics: He is very loving and wants to be near your side. He is playful and loves to fetch a ball. He will lie on your clothes if left on the floor. He licks the bards of his fur siblings after they eat. He likes to sit on the back porch and watch birds. He'd hunt if given the opportunity and he likes to go after chipmunks. You can often see the tip of his little pink tongue sticking out. He spins in a circle when excited and also gives kisses.
